Dress Comfortably and Safely for Your Outdoor Adventure Activity
All of our outdoor activities at Kippure Adventure Activity Centre will require participants to be dressed appropriately, for both their comfort and safety. Following are some basic guidelines on outdoor clothing to wear which we would kindly ask all teachers to communicate to their students, so that your school tour can run smoothly from the offset.
First and foremost, clothing should be casual and comfortable. For many activities, you may end up getting a little dirty too, so it’s best to leave the finery at home!
DO wear:
Jogging pants/walking trousers
Long sleeved tops
Lots of layers
Sturdy shoes with a good grip (trainers, walking shoes or similar)
DO NOT wear:
Denim jeans
Shorts (although shorts may be brought along in very hot weather)
Skirts
High heels
Seasonal recommendations
- Summer: even if the forecast is good, it is wise to be prepared for all eventualities. Please bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), shorts and a lightweight jacket. Insect repellent is also recommended (in case of midges).
- Spring/Autumn/Winter: please bring a warm coat, hat and gloves. Wear a few different layers as the weather can be notoriously changeable. A waterproof jacket is also essential and waterproof trousers are recommended.
The above guidelines apply to all activities at Kippure Estate, from school tours and field and education trips to adventure days, team building days or any other outdoor activity. We want everyone to enjoy their day as much as possible, and dressing appropriately will make a big difference!
